We’re alway fans of a destination wedding. But the stunning island setting of Maui? It doesn’t get much more romantic or ideal than that. “We’ve always wanted a smaller intimate wedding surrounded by close friends and family,” said bride Chinda. “Ideally, we chose Maui because it wasn’t too far for most of our guests, who live in California, and we love the tropical, laid back vibe that Maui has. But honestly, I chose Maui because I fell in love with the sunset and it’s picturesque views. Maui is just postcard perfect and we truly feel like we’re in paradise.”
“We wanted a rustic and romantic wedding. Our venue, Olowalu Plantation House, is beautiful so anything we added was just an additional accent. We had a winter wedding so I wanted bold colors that contrast. We chose blush, berry, and ivory colored flowers with vibrant green leaves and paired it with gold accents for that rustic and romantic feel. Thanks to the help of Ali Thorstad at Maui’s Angels, we were able to make my dream wedding into reality.”
The Ceremony
“A special moment for us was having both of our parents walk us down the aisle. We are who we are because of our parents, so their love, support and presence by being there means a lot to us.”
The Reception
“We chose scenic locations that we love as table names instead of numbers. Etsy was my best friend for that year of planning. I used Etsy for luggage tags as wedding favors, the Mr & Mrs signs, and the table names. Hai loves vinyl figures so I thought it’d be a cute idea to have a bobblehead wedding topper of us.”
