Romantic Tuscany Inspired Wedding in DC

Have you ever been to Tuscany? It’s one of the most romantic places on Earth. While I’ve never been, I can only imagine how magical it must be. Rolling hills, quaint villages, and of course the vineyards – it’s hard not to be swept off your feet by all the beauty. So when one DC couple decided to tie the knot in a Tuscany inspired wedding, we just had to take a peek at their photos… they definitely pulled it off in style.

Not only did they choose a breathtaking location for their wedding venue, but their decor and attire were straight out of a Tuscan dream. If you’re looking for stylish inspiration for your Tuscany inspired wedding day, this is it. Prepare to be blown away.

About the Day:

For Shannon and Thomas, all it took was a little bit of Italian romance to bring the pair together. They had originally met through friends at Auburn University, but it wasn’t until they were both studying abroad in Rome that they became really close and sparks flew. When they got back, they decided to make things official and then dated long-distance for a few years. Once they were finally in the same city together, Thomas popped the question in a proposal turned surprise engagement party with all of their family and friends.

Taking inspiration from where they fell in love, the couple planned a “romantic night in Tuscany” themed wedding for their guests. The day started with a special surprise for Shannon in the morning. Her makeup artist is friends with and does the makeup for one of the Housewives of the Potomac. Shannon is a huge fan and got a surprise FaceTime from the housewife while getting her makeup done. They chose National City Christian Church for their ceremony, which was particularly special to Shannon as it was also the church her older sister was married in. A favorite memory for the newlyweds was their first dance, which they took lessons for and practiced for months, before dancing the night away surrounded by their favorite people.
