Vibrant Filipiniana Wedding Shoot Celebrating Culture

Kunbi O / Wednesday March 3, 2021

Prepare for some GORGEOUS! Today, we’re taking a trip (mentally) the islands of the Philippines! Yup! This “Filipiniana shoot”created by Mylyn Wood Photography and Anela Events, will make you swoon. We’ll let the creators share their inspiration.

From Anela Events:

As two Filipinos in the Pacific Northwest, we wanted to share our culture through our work and photography. Starting from the gorgeous bride we wanted her to wear a replica called the “María Clara gown”, sometimes referred to as Filipiniana dress or traje de mestiza, which is a traditional dress worn by women in the Philippines. In addition, the beautiful blooms in a basket created by Blue Floral Company. We incorporated baskets on the arch way and incorporated acrylic stationary that included the Philippine islands made by Cailene Creatives. Not to mention, the sunset highlighting the Del Mar Estates that pulled the design together and the Groom’s attire called a “Barong” made by a traditional sheer fabric hand-loomed from pineapple leaf fibers. In the Filipino culture, food is the way to the heart! We added four delicious desserts that originated from the Philippines, called Leche Flan, Ube Cake, Bibingka, and Rice Biko which tied in the table design
