Happy 2016! We’re kicking the New Year off with this gorgeous gold wedding photographed by our #PrettyPerfectPartner Kesha Lambert. Yahve and Genevieve tied the knot at the lovely Crest Hollow Country Club in Long Island. We love all of the gold detailing and shimmer that they incorporated into their styling and decor. From the drop dead gorgeous Badgley Mischka gold and rose gold bridesmaid dresses to the detailed beading on the bride’s Justin Alexander gown and a perfectly sequined sweetheart table, each and every glittery detail added an extra sparkle to their special day. You could say that Yahve and Genevieve’s relationship started over a red velvet cupcake. (Love is sweet, no? 🙂 ) At a brunch Genevieve hosted in 2009, Yahve (who came with a mutual friend) caught Genevieve’s eye right away. She, naturally, played coy. At a certain point during the brunch, Genevieve escaped to the kitchen to privately savor the last red velvet cupcake. Just as Genevieve was going to take a bite into her cupcake, Yahve asked, “Can I have one?” Without hesitation, Genevieve flatly responded, “No.” Feeling guilty because he was in fact her guest (and a handsome one at that) she offered him a piece. Long story short, that red velvet cupcake started the romance of their lives!
Yahve proposed to Genevieve after leaving a black tie function. At the end of the event, he suggested they visit the Brooklyn Promenade. It was 1am so Genevieve strongly suggested they go another time (in other words she was tired and her feet hurt). Yahve insisted so Genevieve did the only thing she could… she pouted and complained the whole way there. They walked for a few moments and Yahve spotted a couple and asked them to “take a picture.” Yahve then got down on one knee, popped the question and of course Genevieve said “yes!”
