Dark and Stormy Inspiration Shoot at the St. Louis Contemporary Art Museum

Brianna Kozlarek / Tuesday August 1, 2017

We’ve got something dark, stormy and evening something blue to inspire you today 🙂 Today’s styled shoot by Carretto Studio is cool, sexy and elegant. “For this shoot, we were inspired by the beauty of something simple: mussels,” said owner of Carretto Studio, Andrew Carretto. “The dark and stormy color and texture of mussels with its many facets of blue and grey, the simple shape of mussels, and their beautiful iridescence led us to the Contemporary Art Museum in St. Louis and to this beautiful stormy grey and blue backdrop. The simple shape of the mussels and the minimalism of the art museum inspired us to incorporate mid-century modern pieces, and the watercolor stationary with its layered colors and soft movement carried the feeling even further. From the calligraphy sign to the simple table settings, we wanted showcase our love and appreciation for simple beauty.” A wonderful team of vendors brought amazing insight and creativity to the shoot.
