Elegant Modern Art Museum Wedding

Brianna Kozlarek / Wednesday February 8, 2017

We’ve got a real stunner for you this #WeddingWednesday. Inspired by the classic history of their ceremony venue and the modern aesthetic of their reception venue, Kaye and Michael made wedding design choices that would bridge the gap between the two very different styles for their Richmond, Virginia wedding. Since she had been learning modern calligraphy well before they were engaged, Kaye wanted to personalize the day by hand-lettering everything from the stationery to the signage. With the help of a local calligrapher who digitized her calligraphy, it created a seamless personal wedding design throughout all the paper goods. To her, it was one way she could express gratitude for their loved ones’ support on their special day.

With classic white blooms paired with beautiful grayed jade bridesmaid dresses and black tie tuxedos, hints of green were the perfect colors for their fun and classic celebration. Kaye and Michael even created “lucky in love” cards with a shiny copper penny and a fun lotto scratcher as their wedding favors! Stephanie Yonce Photography captured all the magic:
