So, we’ve been engaged since November of 2014, however; I feel planning really started to pick up this month, and I…am…excited.
We started off the month with our engagement shoot. Despite the drizzle and rain, that day was awesome. It was so fun! We got some great, memorable shots. Thanks to the lovely Chanda Scott for getting inside our heads, learning about us as a couple and shooting in places that were so…us!
I wore one of my favorite dresses, a classic navy blue knee-length dress by Banana Republic and coupled it with some cream colored heels and timeless pearls. Ernst looked irresistibly dapper in a dark gray suit and blue and green striped button down shirt underneath. We shot in the Highlands area of Atlanta as well as the Atlanta Beltway. The area is full of mom and pop coffee shops, local bars and restaurants, as well as quant boutiques – the perfect setting for these two entrepreneurs at heart!
Despite Chanda’s worrisome tripod (that eventually found its way to the trash can, lol), we definitely found several beautiful shots that have made it to our wedding website and our save the date. Oh, if you were wondering, that lonely worrisome tripod that was tossed and left for dead found itself in the arms of a brand new anonymous owner by the end of our shoot. Go figure.
Although I’ve been trying to put myself on a baby budget (because I’m too scared to dive into a full blown budget), I had to add another subscription box to my list. The Bride Box is amazing! I actually learned about it after reading #APBride blogger Phyllis George’s post, who apparently heard about it from another #APBride blogger. So glad I checked them out. The company sends you a lot of cute products to consider when planning for your wedding or just to celebrate your new role as a bride and of course, a wife. Check out the October box. I LOVE the sugar scrub and the “Bride” canvas bag is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen!
I’m happy to say we’re closing out the month having made two more major decisions. We secured a photographer and an officiant. I’m excited about working with Will Hawkins photography and can’t wait to see how Susan Turner from Weddings By Susan is going to bless our day!
