One of my favorite things to do with each new season is reevaluate the decor in my home. Spring is usually the biggest adjustment, because I accumulate much more winter and holiday items than any other season. When I finally get around to switching-out forest green and burgundy for yellow and navy, though, it instantly changes the feel of every room. I find the best way to go about it is starting with the room in which I spend the most time, and work my way down until all of my winter decor is properly stored, and fresh spring items are distributed throughout the house.

Personally I love lots of color, and my favorites this year are bright yellow, mint green, and coral. I choose a few small items for the living room, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom in each shade. You could easily choose just one of these fun hues to add a springtime feel to your home, or focus on one color in each room.

Sunny yellow is the perfect accent to bring a little springtime into your home. It’s especially nice for the bedroom and kitchen, since those are the first rooms I see in the morning. Etsy is one of my favorite places for unique decor, and I couldn’t be more in love with this Good Morning Duvet from Monochrome Studio and Lemon Print Clock from Maple Street Market. Joss and Main is a great source for decor deals, and both these Abstract Daisy Pillows and Vida Quilted Throw would go great in the living room or bedroom.

The color I keep coming back to this season is mint green. It’s so fresh and lively and matches with just about every other color I’ve got going on. This Industrial Desk Lamp by IndLights on Etsy is the perfect way to brighten-up my home office. I’m also currently obsessed with air plants, and love this handmade dipped pod by BirdandFeatherCo. Curtains are usually not something I bother with at all, but these linen Balsas Curtains from Anthropologie are so light and airy I couldn’t resist. This Triple Decker Shelf from Urban Outfitters is so versatile, I’m still not sure whether to hang it in the kitchen, bathroom, or bedroom, but I do know it would look great anywhere!

Coral is typically my go-to color for spring and summer decor since it blends orange, pink, and red without being too overpowering. I especially love coral accents in the living room and kitchen because of the warmth they add to the space. This Lace Trimmed Hand Towel from Anthropologie is made for hanging on the handle of my oven and I love the feminine touch of the trim. Gingham screams classic summer and coral takes the print from picnic to pretty with this sheet set by Serena & Lily on One Kings Lane. Updating wall art and framed photos takes a bit more time, but the visual impact is well worth the effort. Creating a bold focal point is easy with a set like these Multi Size Frames by Mountain Cove Antiques on Etsy. While coral doesn’t always have to mean beachy, I thought the white and gray print on this Drum Lampshade from SweetDreamShades on Etsy was a must-have.

Start adding some colorful touches to your favorite spaces and see how it brightens-up your home and sets the tone for the season to come!
