Today’s Engagement Shoot is picture perfect, with an even more romantic story behind it. Brett met Jody in passing in December 2011 and again in December 2012. Brett asked Jody out for a lunch date in January 2013 and they’ve kept the trend of having a lunch date at least once a week ever since! With a common love of food, travel & the arts, their love is one founded on trust and friendship. Jody is an attorney in her 5th year, and Brett is an entrepreneur and has also worked as a program manager. They are set to tie the knot in November 2016.
“With one of their most memorable dates being on the TRANSFORMING SPACES art tour around the city of Nassau, it made perfect sense when we were planning their engagement session to have art as the inspiration,” said photographer Lyndah Wells. “We considered quite a few locations and wanted to ensure they would match their chemistry perfectly. The beautiful The Island House located in western Nassau was perfect. This boutique hotel, curated with such eclectic pieces of art from Bahamian artists was a delight to photograph the couple at. Using the forms and clean architectural lines, we used a myriad of scenes to showcase their love.”
“Moving from West to East, the couple made a quick wardrobe change and we grabbed some shots underneath the beautiful Poinciana trees which have just started blooming. I just love this time of year! Our final location was to be Hillside House, the wonderful art gallery owned by artist Antonius Roberts who graciously allowed us permission to shoot there. As luck would have it, the rain began to pour and we had to take shelter in our cars for about 20 minutes whilst it passed. Finally we finished up at Hillside House, where with a backdrop of waterscape paintings of Andros Island, it set a certain mood of stillness to the images.” These photos are a perfect way to start the week, feast your eyes below:
