We’re starting the week with a bang thanks to this magnificent (yes, magnificent) wedding at the Casa Monica Hotel in St. Augustine, Florida. Lisa and Fletcher tied the knot in a navy and gold affair truly fit for royalty. Seriously, Lisa looked every bit the princess bride in her lace Allure Romance gown and every single detail of the day was as dreamy as they come. This event was designed by one of my personal favorites- Kristen of An Affair to Remember and photographed by the amazing Kristen Weaver Photography. Enjoy the perfection!
From the Bride: I was going for an elegant, wintery an old-world feel and St. Augustine was the perfect backdrop. We selected gold, navy and “sparkle” (yes, sparkle is a color in my book) because these complemented the feeling we were going for as well. From the tall gold candelabras to the sparkly navy table cloths, we wanted every detail to evoke our elegance inspiration.
Special Projects: Two projects were very special to me. The first was the candle wall behind our sweetheart table. I reeeallly wanted to have one but the cost of renting was outside our budget. My dad was sweet enough to engage a family friend to create my very own, custom wall. It was just a great addition to the room and knowing that it was make just for our wedding was very special.
The other project was the Brazilian “sweets” or mini-deserts. My grandmother is a baker and passed on that gift to my aunts. Although my grandmother couldn’t attend the wedding due to health reasons, my aunt took it upon herself to make 2,000 Brazilian “sweets.” It was so special to have my aunts and cousins at my parent’s house the days leading up to the wedding working on these deserts and wrapping each one with love. It definitely was very special.
Favorite Moments: We had planned to do a last dance with every one in the room. During the reception, I randomly decided that I wanted the dance to be just Fletcher and I and no one else. I asked our wonderful planner if we could get people outside for sparklers a little earlier so Fletcher and I could share our last dance alone. It was such a sweet moment that was just between the two of us and we were able to soak it all in and realize that wow, we were married! We danced to “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” by Aerosmith. When we got to our room, Fletcher gave me a gorgeous jewelry box. Inside it was engraved “To my love, I don’t want to miss a thing.” It was the perfect.
