We absolutely love this regal, gorgeous African-themed surprise 40th birthday from Planned Perfect Events ! Here’s all the details from planner Nadine:
“What a time to embrace life with a twist of culture for our African Themed Surprise 40th Birthday Celebration fit for a Queen. 2020 has taught us many things and COVID has tested us in unparalleled ways allowing us the ability to pause, reflect, and adapt to a new normal; tackling cultural shifts, economic downturns with social and political injustices going on around us. Culture is not canceled.
Milestones are meant to be celebrated; our client wanted his Queen’s life celebration as the reason for family and friends to find joy and positivity during these tough times. The themed celebration was a great representation of our selfless Lawyer-FireFighter power couple that spends their days defending and saving the lives of others. The space was reflective of bright Rastafarian colors symbolic of red – for those that have given their lives to help others, yellow -for wealth, and green- for beauty, fertility, and vegetation of the land. The space was filled with love, intimacy, and each guest dressed in African attire to match the theme. A large 8ft balloon wall and custom floor wrap was our focal point paired with lush greens, red anthurium, croton petra leaf, and the natural beauty and texture of pampas grass. We wanted the design to embody culture and a true representation of Black Excellence in such a revolutionary time.
We cannot control the outcome of our current state of affairs; we can control how we choose to celebrate milestones, even in the smallest ways, it brings joy to our families and friends and a reminder that life is also not canceled.”
