A little bit of warmth after this arctic chill that’s taken over most of the country sounds pretttty good right about now. Enter: this super sweet and beautiful engagement shoot in sunny Hawaii. Kelsie grew up on the coast of California. She has always wanted to educate the next generation, so she applied for a teaching position in Honolulu. She came to Hawaii to change the world through teaching, but little did she know, she would also meet her prince charming!
“A week before the proposal, he had planned out a whole kayak trip with friends to the mokes (islands) near Lanikai beach,” said Kelsie. “I was suspicious because he never plans our adventures like that that far ahead of time, but when our friends mentioned it was their idea, I shrugged it off. We woke up early that morning and started kayaking at Lanikai at 8 a.m. to avoid the crowd. The view was stunning. You could see everything, from the city to the mountains to the neighboring island. He pulled me to the other side of the beach away from our friends who were “taking pictures for a church activity,” and pulled out a shell. Normally when we go to the beach and he holds his hand out, there’s a crab in it and he’s about to throw it at me. So naturally I freaked out and tried to runaway, but he held on to my wrists so I couldn’t. Somehow he convinced me it wasn’t a crab, and he pushed the shell aside to show the gorgeous ring he had hiding behind it. Our friends were secretly taking pictures the whole time. He got down on one knee and told me he loved me and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. I fell on my butt from shock and started crying. Just like when he asked me out, I forgot to say yes, so he had to ask again. When I could finally speak, I said yes over and over again. Hopefully, at the wedding I remember to say “I do” this time.” Glorious Moments Photography captured this sweet engagement shoot:
