“Lovers forever face to face
My city your mountains
Stay with me stay
I need you to love me
I need you today
Give to me your leather
Take from me my lace”
These lyrics from Stevie Nix’s song Leather and Lace served as the inspiration for today’s styled shoot. “Our main focus throughout the planning of this shoot was to embrace the union of contrasting elements. Our team wanted to showcase how the lyrics to the song can be brought to life. Each component that created this shoot celebrates an uncommon union.”
“Leather and lace, together, is an unusual pair. We wanted to celebrate that! When we think of words to describe lace, soft and elegant come to mind. Lace is frequently used in wedding design, from the dress to the table linen. When is the last time you heard of incorporating leather in a wedding design? We combined robust and rigid elements to show that being elegant and edgy can coexist on your wedding day! The color palette was driven by the purple allium, a bold, yet delicate flower. It served as an accent and was surrounded with more traditionally elegant blooms.”
Our etched mirrored invitation suite and velvet menu cards truly set the tone! The invitation suite alone would let the couple’s guests know that they were going to witness a unique union of contrasting worlds. In lieu of a traditional round cake, we opted for a hand-painted, geometric cake with traditional flavors. The cake is displayed on a silver pedestal with a laser cut leather linen train that is reminiscent of the bride’s gown. The couple that we envision hosting this type of event is showing that they may not be the same, but embracing their differences makes them better together. This couple is elegant and exciting, graceful and confident, bold and ready to celebrate their love!
