Santorini Free Spirited Engagement Shoot

Brianna Kozlarek / Monday February 13, 2017

Happy Monday lovers! Today we’re featuring a free spirited engagement session in Santorini inspired by the Archaid period in Greek Art. Nick, of Greek heritage, and Sarah are a real couple and true gypsy souls. Sarah is an artist and Nick plays the bouzouki – this was not a prop! Sandy and Odysseas Photography captured this breathtaking session. On their inspiration:

“During the archaic period there was growing interest in individualism. Individuality and uniqueness – an awareness of self – was a main concept within art and philosophy. Idea of “finding one’s self” and expressing personal feelings was explored through art. Individuality was celebrated – like Nick and Sarah! Art began to become more colorful and ornate. Artists experimented with portraying more realistic human forms. The Archaic Smile, where it appeared the woman was always staring back at the viewer in artwork, as if posing for a photo.”
