It’s the most patriotic time of year. With Independence Day just around the corner and wedding season in full swing, it’s the perfect time to discuss fashion for the Nautical Groom. Whether you are planning to get married by land at a nautical inspired restaurant or by sea on an elegant yacht, we have curated three groom looks that are appropriate for varying levels of formality from casual to formal. Each look incorporates navy, white, and ivory – all colors that are intrinsic to a nautical theme. To complement the nautical colors and further anchor the suiting looks, we incorporated brown shoes and wooden bracelets – reminiscent of the fine woodwork found on ships. For the dinner jacket look we introduced a black calf lace up shoe which serves as nice addition to the more formal look. We added patterns and textures through the use of houndstooth and pindot pocket squares as well as lapel pins made of white burlap and floral printed fabric; all in keeping with the nautical color scheme. And for the groom that can’t bear the thought of wearing a neck tie for his nautical-themed nuptials, we have styled a navy suit with an ultra-modern banded collar shirt.
With the help of talented wedding photographer, Jen Sosa, and suiting and tuxedo pieces by Suitable, our #PrettyPerfectPartner Mr. Baldwin Style styled and produced the following inspiration images for The Nautical Groom.
