TGIF! Things are about to get a whole lot prettier thanks to this sweet styled inspiration shoot by White Elephant Events. Inspired by the historically fabulous Marie Antoinette, this romantic shoot channels all the vintage glamour needed for an #aisleperfect victorian affair. There’s so much to be inspired by here so sit back and enjoy!
From White Elephant Events: For this shoot I was inspired by the famously young and fabulous Marie Antoinette and her original squad of fashionistas. I wanted to emphasize how fun it is to be a a bride and how it doesn’t have to be all stuffy stress. I pulled on colors such as pink, lavender, gold and rose gold to keep the mood romantic and decidedly feminine. The gorgeous gowns from Lakum offered real effortless elegance while remaining formal without being overdone.
I found Sofia Coppola’s 2006 remake of Marie Antoinette to be specifically inspirational and wanted to recreate the feeling of girls being girls a la the young queen. As many know, Marie Antoinette found herself decked out in jewels daily. So, the amazing Susie Saltzman provided our brides a bit of bling in keeping with the regal theme. Even our little bridesmaid had some diamonds of her own! What French inspired shoot would be complete without some macarons and petit fours? Erin at Sweet Pistachio lent her talents and made the cakes and pastries almost too beautiful to eat (almost!).
For decor, I wanted the table to be formal and feminine with a slight ruffle or frill. Carroll’s Florist provided the beautiful centerpiece and bouquet that were loose and romantic with hints of antique rose and purples. The best part of it all was the unfussy fun our models were having. It was so great to see women smiling and enjoying themselves, dressed to the nines and celebrating love. Too often brides become the epicenter of all the anxiety on wedding day. We wanted to remind women that it’s THEIR day- and they can have their cake and eat it, too!
