We’re starting this new week off with this vibrant blue and pink wedding courtesy of our fave Wale Ariztos Photography. Chiso and Jeffrey said “I do” in a heartwarming celebration that was as intimate (numbers aside) as it was spiritual. The details are the perfect reflection of their beautiful bond. We also couldn’t help but get excited to see Pantone’s colors of the year- hello! Rose Quartz and Serenity. This wedding was truly something special, and we wish the new Mr & Mrs, the best eternity has to offer.
From the Bride:
We knew we wanted 2 things: 1. That God’s glory be showcased at our wedding. 2. That we create a very romantic atmosphere. As for the actual details, we were somewhat clueless. For flower selection, table decor etc: we left it all up to our decorator – LilyVevents. She was absolutely amazing! We knew we could trust her work and she exceeded our expectations. Colors: this took forever to decide on! We initially chose colors from our favorite basketball teams, Yellow (Lakers – Jeff) and Red (Miami at the time, now Cleveland – Chiso). Obviously that didn’t quite work out! Lol.
The first kiss was very memorable as Jeff decided to make a show of having his groomsmen pass down chap stick for him before kissing me. The dancing!! Jeff & I had never danced that much in our lives, we weren’t really “Dancers” till that day. We danced till we were ready to drop! Now we randomly put on music at home and dance all the time. I loved the garter moment!! Jeff did some “manly” pushups before going under, it was quite exciting! My dad stopped watching haha!
The Reception
Advice for future brides:
As hard as it may seem, try not to let yourself get stressed – it will only make you look extremely worn out on the day. Enjoy THE ACTUAL day, don’t let it pass you by! Also, learn to pick your battles. There may be things people closest to you want that you do not want at your wedding. You can’t have everything your way, so just pick what is important to you and insist on those things (whether it is your dress, photographer, the kind of décor you want). Most importantly, remember to not let any of the different family opinions, or anything else for that matter, get in-between you and your fiancé. It’s your day – not your parent’s day, or your siblings’ day – your day. Your union is bigger than “the one wedding day”. So, walk as one and plan the day together. Be of the same mind throughout the process, it’s the best way to start your new life together.
Final thought from the Bride:
It was such a beautiful day! If we could, we would re-live the day. Everything happened so fast, we felt we didn’t really get to take in the day. We honestly didn’t see our decor till after the wedding when we saw pictures. So, I would definitely advise all couples to take it in slowly, enjoy the day, after all, you can only have 1 wedding day!
