Today’s real wedding is quite literally a fairytale. My friends Nadine and Kindrick tied the knot at the amazing De Seversky Mansion in New York. Bride Nadine was an absolute vision in her Vera Wang ‘Hayley’ gown that completely set the tone for the evening. Her bridesmaids wore bright Purple Jenny Yoo dresses to perfectly compliment her high fashion style. The drama and romance of the gowns carried through into their elegant reception, with beautiful floral arrangements, floating candles and even outdoor fire pits for guests give their dancing shoes a break and snuggle up with their dates.
Nadine caught the wedding bug after her beautiful day, so she started stellaplanning, an event planning inspiration board, on Instagram. From jaw dropping cakes to swoon-worthy dresses, stellaplanning is an awesome go-to resource for brides looking for some unique ideas for their special day. See all of the snapshots (captured by our #prettyperfectvendor Joshua Dwain) and Nadine’s insights on the beautiful details she chose for their incredible wedding below.
Inspiration:
My inspiration was my personal style of elegance, trendiness , and grace. I wanted to my colors to POP without going nuts like a kid with a paint brush. I picked bright pink peonies (which I love) for all my bridesmaids to contrast with a rich bright purple dresses from Jenny Yoo. I wanted to have a modern flair for their dresses, since I am a known fashionista. The ladies all wore high-low hemlines with differentiating tops according to their comfort level. The men had Burberry ties in a purple tartan. I picked gold as my contrasting solid color to the purple and pink. I was told my color scheme was very regal which was an added bonus. I was not afraid to play with shades of my color. Again, I witness bridezilla cry over the wrong shade of gold. I refused to be that girl.
The Dress:
I knew I would have to wear a design from the queen of bridal, Vera Wang. I picked my dress in 2013 when I saw the jaw-dropping train. My dress was complimented with a vera veil and handmade vera wang belt from my best friend (amazing gift right!).
Favorite Moment:
My most memorable moment was seeing my husband at the altar and knowing “yes” I am really getting married! I also started tearing up seeing the joy on my family’s and friends’ faces. I truly believe it was a combination of God and having a wedding planner that nothing unexpected happen, that was significant. Small things always happen, but nothing that ruined my day. I had an amazing wedding planner to ensured that we were 1. timely and 2. everything went smoothly.
Advice for Brides:
Breathe. Let go of the small things. Be careful walking down the aisle you may start tearing up, so look straight at your partner. I personally found a strong calming spirit in my husband’s gaze. Lastly, get a wedding planner, at the very least get a “day-of planner”. She or he will get your family moving on time and make sure you have a blast on your day.
