Guys, we’re in love! Yes, we know we say this all the time but really can you blame us? Sherry and Perry said I do in a historic courtyard wedding in downtown Charleston, South Carolina. The couple started off with a glorious ceremony at the amazing William Aiken House. Let me just go on record by saying that bride Sherry’s dress is one of my top ten favorites ever (yes, ever). I already go crazy for a wedding dress with pockets but then throw in an adorable peter pan collar and you have me sold. It gets even extra points for being hand made by a member of the bride’s family – like really?! We’re completely smitten with this beauty by Diana Deaver Weddings. Enjoy!
From the Photographer:
The William Aiken House is one of my favorite structural elements of this wedding. Only in Charleston SC can you find a wedding venue that will combine historic elegant interiors, lush gardens corners with architectural enhancements to achieve an excellently balanced indoor and outdoor wedding platform. I loved the white gazebo columns and the reflection pool.
The venue is perfectly matched by the bride’s simplicity and elegance. I enjoyed the unique hand made wedding dress that featured pockets and the most adorable collar. The sweet first look, as well as the brave moment when Sherry and Perry walked down the aisle holding hands were some of the emotional highlights of the wedding .
From the Bride:
I wanted to go for a vintage garden party feel which couldn’t have been easier with the william aiken house as a backdrop. The exquisitely decorated historic home made it easy to slide into an ambiance of dreamy festivity. I also wanted to work in as many details from family/friends as possible including calligraphy by a friend, vintage gloves from an aunt, handmade gown, etc. Of course I had some anxiety surrounding wedding details, but on the day of the wedding, none of that mattered. It was my future husband and I with our closest family and friends, and it was perfect.
