What we wouldn’t give to be at today’s feature location right now (save us from this cold!).
Two super talented creatives Makini (of Makini Regal Designs) and Melissa (of Statice Events) came together to design this gorgeous Destination Styled Wedding Shoot in culturally rich Trinidad and Tobago. Blending their incredible talents and collaborating with some of Trinidad’s extremely talented wedding industry vendors they were able to produce perfection highlighting all of Tobago’s natural beauty for a destination wedding of any bride’s dream.

Valerie and Oswald met while vacationing with their families’ in Trinidad one summer. Both their families had taken a trip to Tobago to enjoy the main attraction, “Sunday School”. What started out as a harmless approach by Oswald asking Valerie to dance, quickly winded up into a Trini Love Story. At the time Valerie was living in NY, following her dreams of working in Public Relations with one of NYC’s top PR firms, MWW and Oswald was living in Maryland finishing up his internship at The University of Maryland School of Dentistry. After 2 years of a long distance relationship during Oswald’s internship, he got hired as a Dentist at an office in NYC. Within 3 months of moving to NYC, he proposed to Valerie. He knew that Valerie would be the missing piece to complete his puzzle and he didn’t want to be without her. (see the full gallery here)
Valerie and Oswald are deeply rooted in their Trinidadian heritage and wanted it to be reflected on their wedding day. However, they had both grown accustomed to their modern, lavish lifestyles in NYC. After going back and forth with the idea of getting married on a rooftop in NYC or a beach wedding in Tobago, they decided to bring the glam of NYC to the beaches of Tobago. Not to mention, it would alleviate both their families having to travel to NYC for their wedding. The beige and white color palette with accents of sequin, turquoise, and coral are the perfect fusion of modern NYC and the tropical “home” vibe of Trinidad. The beach setting is romantic yet, fun, and playful, reminiscent of the day Valerie and Oswald met at “Sunday School.”
