Introduce your brand:
Kanayo Adibe Photography is a Washington DC area based wedding and lifestyle photography company. My approach to weddings is extremely artistic, photojournalistic and arguably cinematic. With every shot I take I’m constantly thinking of new ways to creatively tell your story using unconventional techniques and unique angles, all while creating that captivating feeling of presence when viewing your photos. My goal is to preserve your special moments by creating romantic, yet visually striking imagery to be enjoyed for years to come.
Describe your photography packages? Do you travel ( (1)Within US (2) International)
For weddings I offer 3 packages with a la carte items but also allow for customizations because every wedding is unique. My portrait sessions are a standard fee and events are billed on an hourly basis. I do travel both nationally and internationally and hope to shoot more destination weddings in the future.
What inspired you to go into photography?
My interest in photography started with the iPhone and the introduction of the App Store. I learned the basics on my phone, composition and post processing. With each new photography app I downloaded, I developed a new skill and understanding of the craft and was a self proclaimed iPhoneographer. Some of my favorite shots to date are pictures taken on my iPhone. I decided to go pro after years of being told by friends to give it a shot, I was gifted my first camera and have been shooting ever since.
What is your favorite thing about wedding photography?
I love that the wedding day is a story and every wedding is unique. I also love the fact that people love weddings; it’s the perfect platform to capture amazing stories and share with an audience with vested interests and emotions.
Name some of your favorite places you have shot.
The ones that stand out to me the most have been in Budapest, The Dominican Republic and Palm Springs, CA.
Name some of your favorite vendors you’ve worked with?
So far my favorite will have to be Ciel Photo & Video, they by far have been the easiest videographers to work with. They gave me priority and would work around me. A photographers dream!
Any advice for brides on the wedding planning process?
First looks are awesome! I also encourage spending more time enjoying your special day, living in the moment and focussing less on perfection. Let us worry about that.

The Grand Budapest Hotel, Wes Anderson’s style and obsession with symmetry has given me a lot to think about.
