Race and Religious Wedding by Sapphire Events

You can always count on Sapphire Events to bring the glam. Kayli and Gordon tied the knot in a fa-bu-lous wedding at New Orleans’ prestigious Race and Religious. The adorable duo invited their friends and families from all over the country and across the pond (Gordon is from the UK) to share in their love for each other. We love the perfect balance of grunge and chic here, from the bride’s elegant beaded gown to the striking backdrop of the beautiful venue.  Everything is just so pretty.

How He Asked
He proposed in London, we were traveling there in June for our friends’ wedding. Gordon traveled there a few days before me for work and then I came later in the week. His dad picked me up from the airport and Gordon had this plan for me to take the train from his parents’ and meet him in the city. He told me to dress up because we may try to go to dinner somewhere nice, and when I met him at the train station he was all dressed up! He took me around the corner and we stopped at a famous boutique hotel in London called The Goring. He surprised me with a suite there and had afternoon tea brought up to the room. He proposed during tea out on the terrace, and opened saying that since we would spend our lives together in the U.S. he wanted me to also think of London as my home, and have a special meaning in our story together. He said it was very special to him to propose in London, and then he took out the ring and went down on one knee!
