For our wedding day, I wanted to ensure that our guests would see us in as many details as possible. Our color scheme was inspired by the fall season, which we both love and is the season I’ve always dreamed of having my wedding in. The shades of colors the season brings, the feel, the football, and the meaning of the season – there was so much we could play with to bring our day together! The primary color we chose was a shade of orange called Firecracker. The Maid’s dresses and Men’s ties highlighted this color. It was light and fun, but still blended with the deeper tones we brought in. We are both “Locally Grown, Locally Owned” lovers, so majority of our vendors were friends or family members who are talented, creative, and affordable. Their years of experience were not plenty, but their work .. completely breathtaking. Our photographer, wedding coordinators, cake decorator, musicians/DJ, venue staff, Officiant, and florist truly went above and beyond, working together to make our day absolutely perfect!
Our wedding ceremony was my absolute favorite memory of the day. That was the one point in the day when everything slowed down to a pace where each part was manageable to take in, memorable, emotional, spiritual, joyous, and we were able to share it with a church full of people who sincerely, truly supported us and our marriage.
My advice to Brides would be to remain true to you and your Fiance’. Once you two have sat down to candidly discuss each other’s vision and desires for your wedding day, stay true to it. There will be many people (not including your wedding coordinator) with opinions, suggestions, requests, and criticisms. Be open-minded and willing to compromise, but only with your soon-to-be-Husband. Pray, breathe, and soak in as much as possible as the day you’ve been waiting for unfolds!
