My fiancé proposed to me in such an amazing way that defined our relationship and the love we have for each other. About a week before he proposed he had asked my father for permission to marry me. Once my father gave his blessing, he set off to plan the most unforgettable proposal. He is always thinking of out of the ordinary ways to do special things for me and his proposal didn’t fall short.
We have season passes to Disneyland because we are such young spirits, so it was not uncommon for us to visit Disneyland a couple of times in the year. We had planned one of these trips with my cousin, her husband, and their two boys. We spent all day riding the rides, and in the late afternoon, we stood in line at the Cars ride. As we approached the ride, my fiancé and my cousin’s husband sat in the back, while my cousin and I sat in the front seat. We went through the ride as normal and enjoyed it. The ride ended, and we had come off of the cars – little did I know my man had already proposed.
We walked up the pathway to see the video screens where our pictures from the ride were displayed. I was in complete shock and disbelief. While we were on the ride, my fiancé had made signs (saying ”Rev, Will you marry me?) which he and my cousin’s husband held up while the camera took our picture.
After staring at the screen, we had a huge crowd around us, and as I turned around, he was on one knee with my beyond gorgeous engagement ring (2.25 carat center round stone with cushion halo by Simon G jewelers). I was shaking and crying and in disbelief. After calming down, I said “yes!” and everyone cheered and was snapping pictures of us.
It was an unforgettable moment in my life that I will never forget. It seemed as though the world had stood still and it was only me and him. Right after the proposal, we left Disneyland and went home, where all of my family and friends were waiting for us at my house. I was overwhelmed with all of the joy and emotions I was feeling and that memory will stay with me forever. I am excited to say I will be marrying my best friend next year and can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with him!
