Happy Hump Day… Today we have our next installment of our AP Proposal stories. Sid went all out to pop the question to the love of his life. I mean really what’s more romantic than a hot air balloon ride? Enjoy!

It was 10th April 2012. We were in Yarra Valley. He had asked me to “wake up____ and be ready by ____.” My husband (my boyfriend at that time) loves giving surprises so when a van pulled over in front of the estate where we were, I was super excited to see a hot air balloon company van, and I thought that was the surprise.

He had asked me to “wake up____ and be ready by ____.” My husband (my boyfriend at that time) loves giving surprises so when a van pulled over in front of the estate where we were, I was super excited to see a hot air balloon company van, and I thought that was the surprise.
We got into the van. It was just the two of us. He had paid for a personal hot air balloon ride over the beautiful fields and wineries of Yarra Valley. The van got to an open valley at about 6am. They tricked me into holding on to the heavy ropes of the balloon before it had to be inflated. (Yea like I could have stopped the balloon from flying lol). They told me to face away from the balloon. I was already suspicious. Then I peeked while the balloon was being inflated and I thought I saw an M and a heart. I glanced at my boyfriend thinking, “did you…are you…??!” But he looked away.
Then once the balloon was completely inflated, he turned me around to show the beautiful white balloon with THE QUESTION written on it. Oh my God, then he got down on his knees with a brilliant cut diamond ring and I said YES… Off we flew away in the balloon high into the clouds. It was so beautiful and romantic. My first ever hot air balloon ride over beautiful valleys, drinking champagne with my fiancé.
