There’s something about Roberta and Carlos. I am such a sucker for family. Going through Roberta and Carlos’ wedding pictures, I could feel the strong sense of family among them- From the Groom and his doting father to the Bride and her Mother and Sister. An old Yoruba proverb kept flashing in my head as I put this wedding together, It says “Remember the Child of whom you are” …See for yourself.
I always dreamed of an all white romantic destination wedding. I however selected sage green as a complementary color. Choosing a location was easy for us as the Dominican Republic was where we started our relationship and where we wanted to start our married life together.
I think small details made our wedding even that more special and memorable. My husband and I put each ribbon and monogram on our invitations. He was very helpful throughout the planning.process. Even our favors were done by hand. Two of my bridesmaids did the bows for the sandals to be given to each guest. They also did the napkin rings by hand. (You can see more of their creativity on http://www.aboutiqueaffair.com/ )
Giving back to others is very important in our family. One of the Bridesmaids gifts were TOMS (every purchased pair results in a shoe-donation to children in need). We were so grateful to each and every person who traveled near and far to attend our special day in the Dominican Republic.
Favorite Memory: My favorite parts of the day can be summed up in walking inside the church and seeing Carlos, the father daughter dance and at the end of the night watching our Same Day Edit video. It truly was a magical day.
