Chic New York Wedding by Michelle Elaine Weddings

Nothing like an über chic New York wedding to brighten up your day. As a New Yorker, I live for weddings like this one. I shared Jennifer and Damian’s Botanical Gardens Engagement Session last week and I’m sure we can all agree that we were expecting nothing short of fabulous for their actual wedding. The Bride looked beyond gorgeous in her mermaid dress and the Groom? the oh-so dapper Groom is a sight for sore eyes. I absolutely adored this wedding  and I’m sure you will too!

Jennifer and Damian met on a China Town bus. Ironically knowing one another for years through a mutual contact but never realizing until they began speaking. Love is never easy to find, true love that is, but Jennifer & Damian were brought together by fate.
We took the inspiration of the China Town bus and provided bus service for guests from the hotel to the ceremony and then to the reception. We also had 200 place cards cut into the shape of a bus and left a small sign displaying “Please Find Your Way To Your Destination for the Evening.”
Each table for reception was named after a place near and dear to both the bride and groom; places they’d been together as a couple as well as separate in their lives leading to their union.
Everything else was kept simple and elegant with little fuss and it turned out incredible!
They were one of the most easy going and sweetest couples that I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with!

The Reception…

Advice from M.E.W:

The first thing that I always tell each bride is to breathe. Ok, now, let’s HAVE some FUN! You’re planning your wedding day! While it is easy for me to say, you have to remember that this is a once in a lifetime experience and there is no rewind button. Your wedding day symbolizes the everlasting love that you hold for one another and sharing that love with the most important people in your lives. This is the day that your fairytale comes true & you should have fun planning that fairytale!

Secondly, ENJOY! Every single moment of the day! It’s very easy to get stressed when you see that the flower girl’s, once pristine white dress, is now covered in dirt after taking a fall during your outdoor ceremony! These are the moments that you will never forget, that you’ll look back on and laugh about for many years.

I believe that no day should ever be perfect. Your wedding day should have those crazy, silly and fun moments that make it special and most importantly unforgettable.

While I could write a book full of knowledge and advice, I feel that these are the absolute most important reminders. Some brides can get lost in that stressful wedding bubble. So remember, you’re walking down that aisle towards your soul mate . . . and that should keep you smiling from now until forever!
